David was a merchant in Ohio and continued there until 1838 when the family moved to Howard County, Missouri and shortly thereafter to Linn County, Missouri where they settled in what is now Benton township.
He died on 13 March 1871.
Sarah Jane JENKINS was born 20 May 1840, probably in Benton township, Linn County, Missouri, the daughter of David Jenkins and Magdalena Reinhart.
She married Abraham Van Meter Chenowith on 29 March 1866 in Linn County, Missouri [IGI as A.V.].
Abe was a farmer and Sarah a housekeeper in 1880 in Benton, Linn County, Missouri.
Sarah died 14 August 1921 at Purdin, Linn County, Missouri.
